no scroll down bar on the right

i have been using microsoft word for over ten years and i have never
encountered this problem before: on the right hand side of the
document where one clicks to scroll down, it's not even there, i can't
scroll down! help! i need that scroll down back.

Go to Word>Preferences, click on View, and make sure the checkbox next to
"Vertical scroll bar" is ticked.

problem resolved - actually i just restarted my computer and the bug
disappeared.  i don't know why i didn't think of that before.

Ah! A Windows user!
If you ever think of restarting your computer to fix something, you are
admitting that the tool you use is broken.

Why oh why is a restart considered to be a 'fix'? It is a desperate
last minute cargo cult action. A triumph of voodoo over reason.
