I bought a new computer, Mac Book Pro and want to install my old
program Word:Mac 2001 on it and I get an error mesage that I can't
install this on another computer and it quits. I used the product key
but it installed a new ID that's not my old one. Any ideas. I know that
Microsoft is death on re-using but this should be OK.

Thanks

You can't install because 2001 is a 'classic' app, originally designed to
run in OS 9.

Classic apps can run in the Classic emulation environment of PPC macs, but
this will not work on Intel Macs. You need to update to an OS X native
versin of office, either vX or preferably v2004.
