I have a document created in Word 2004 PC which contans embedded
pictures. These display well when the document is opened in word, but I
only see placeholders when I open in Word:mac.

I have tried saving the original to rtf on the PC - it has no effect on
the mac. Can anyone help as I'd reallylike to use this document on my
mac.

The original was created in Office Word 2003. Sorry I can't amend my
posting.

Hi Stewart:

Your mention of "placeholders" indicates that you are aware of the "Show
picture placeholders" Preference -- so I can assume that you have turned it
OFF in Word 2004?

Then I need to know what file type you are using: there are 20-odd common
file types that could be described as "Pictures" -- which ones are you
using?

Cheers
