Hello -
Take a look at the Insert...Index & Tables dialog box to see if you may
have inadvertently removed the Hyperlink check. If so & you then
updated replacing the original, that would be one possible explanation.
You should be able to restore the Hyperlinked version by repeating the
procedure *with* the Hyperlink option active.
If that isn't the case, what more can you share about other changes in
or aspects of the doc. Simply updating the TOC shouldn't break the
links.

In Mac Word, you have to click the Page Number.
Mac Word does not support hyperlinks in the TOC like windows Word can.
If you get a document where the TOC was generated by Windows Word, the
hyperlinks will be in it and will work. If the TOC is re-generated on the
Mac, the hyperlinks will be removed because Mac Word can't generate them.
When you regenerate a TOC, the entire text within it is replaced.
