Hi,

I have a series of footnotes:

1.  John Smith, My Book
2.  Jack Spratt, Another Book
3.  Jane Smythe, Yet Another Book
4.  See footnote 2

I want to be able to type footnote #4 as 'See footnote x', where x is
some kind of symbol that will automatically identify which footnote
contains the 'Jack Spratt' reference.  How do I do this?

v 11.1 on Mac.

Hi Richard -

One option - Take a look at Word's Help on Cross References. I think
you'll find it to be just what you're looking for.
