Greetings!

I was trying to help a colleague the other day. It seems that she has a
29-page Word 2004 document, and page 10 won't print, either by itself or
as part of a larger range. I discovered that I could print it to a .pdf
file, and p. 10 was included. But p. 10 of that .pdf file wouldn't print
from Preview. I didn't try to print from Reader, as she doesn't have it
installed. I didn't have time to troubleshoot further, but I intend to
try again on Monday.

Any suggestions as to what sort of problem can cause a page to be
unprintable? It looks okay on the screen, no exotic formatting or
missing characters or anything like that.

A couple more things. This document started out on a PC, then was moved
to the Mac so that my colleague could work on it. She dumped it into a
empty template with pre-set-up document-level formatting and styles, and
reformatted it before trying to print. She does this regularly without
such problems, and other things are printing normally for her now. The
printer is a Samsung ML-2551N, properly set up with driver installed and
working fine.

Any hints would be appreciated!

Hi George

Fascinating problem which I've not seen before.

Have you checked for "hidden text" (especially any hidden field codes) on
that page? Use the "Show/Hide" command. Then try copying the text only
(without any field codes or paragraph marks) onto a new page, delete
completely the problem page and insert your new page.

Hope that helps.

Rudy

I've seen this on a Windows machine a few years ago. I solved the problem by
copying all text and paste it into a new document. Give it a try.

Hhi George:

I HAVE had this problem, years ago in documents created in Word 6 on the PC
and attempting to print in Word 95 on the PC.

Then, it turned out to be a corrupted style.

Can you send me the document and I'll take a look?

Contact me by email and I will tell you where to send the document...

Cheers
