When I go to File ‹ Open or Command O to open a file, the resulting dialogue
box showing my files is so large it goes beyond the bounds of the screen and
the cancel and open buttons are barely able to be seen (just the top edge).
I cannot get to the resize tab in the lower right corner, as it is beyond
the screen and the cursor will not go beyond the screen. I have tried to hit
the resize button in the upper left corner, but it has no effect (the close
and hide buttons are greyed out on the Open dialogue box). I have tried
holding all manner of combinations of keys (function, control, option,
command, and shift in all possible combinations) to close the box or to
resize it...nothing has worked thus far.

Any ideas as to how I got there and how to get back?
