I am using Word 2002 in Windows XP. I have a 300 page manual and when I created the TOC there are duplicate entries for the same units. For example, Unit 2 - Enter Comment will be listed twice. The second entry is the correct one. The first one refers to the page break before Unit 2. I looked into it a little more and the style of Heading 2 (which is for Units) gets applied to the page break. I can't seem to change one without the other. I tried to clear formatting for the page break and nothing happens. I try to apply a different format to the p.b. and it gets applied to the Unit as well. Any ideas? Hello Eric, This is a newsgroup for users of Macintosh editions of Word, which are slightly different from Windows versions. Some differences are very subtle, including table of contents behaviour. A few people here operate both versions, and may answer you, but you would be better off posting at a newsgroup such as microsoft.public.word.formatting.longdocs. I would have started the ball rolling by asking whether "Unit 2 - Enter Comment will be listed twice" means that two table of contents entries were created with that wording, or whether the duplicated entry is a blank entry at the same level in the hierarchy. You might like to clarify that when you pose the question on the other NG.
