I'm perplexed by this one. I have the "kinda" new 2.1 ghz motorola iMac
20" with office 2004. Next time an Intel, right!  My last Mac was a G4
Dually with 4 internal drives. Why tell about the oldie, I did transfer
some info and apps from the oldie, but not office 2004, fresh install
of office on the new imac. I've had many many macs and loved them all.
However, I am stumped trying to figure out why word opens on this mac
with a mini doc for me to use. Originally this was happening to both
appleworks and word. After a few of the online support live chats with
apple that come with the new imac, I was told to dump my prefs, user,
library, prefs and it worked, however, it is back, and only happening
to word. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have been dumping the prefs
and trying to figure out why it either doesn't go away or why It has
yet comes back.

I appreciate your help and thoughts on this one.

I don't totally understand your question.

Are you saying that Word always opens up with a really small window?

Or are you saying that all new blank documents are set to 3x5 paper size?

Either way, quit Word, rename the Normal template, and restart, to see if
that's the problem--follow the link from about the middle of this this page
for specific instructions:

(hit refresh a few times in Safari, or use a different browser)
