Using Word 2004 v 11.2

Want to modify Normal template to do 2 things:
Change left and right margins
and consequently to change tabs in Normal style.

Finally found the "real" Normal template in users/Microsoft User etc
etc

Went to Format/Style
Selected Normal
Modify/Format/Tabs

Word promptly crashes.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ken,

It's possible that your Normal template is corrupt.  Quit Word and rename
Normal (OldNormal will do).  Relaunch Word and a new Normal will be created.
(You may have to quit and relaunch Word again before you actually see it.)
Open it and try to modify it.  Any problem now?  If not, trash OldNormal and
you're good to go.  If you're still getting crashes, post back here.
