I have recently moved from word 2000 to 2003.
I used to save files as ansi format to be able to import them into a
DOS based database.
Now I am at a loss for what to do.
Is there any way to save word docs as text files with table formatting
kept?

Read the Word Help topic " About encoded text files " to learn how.
