Word 2004 is frequently crashing on me when I cut or copy a block of
text, like the size of a paragraph or more. Word doesn't seem to want
to put much text on the clipboard. Anyone else run into this problem or
know how to fix it?

Hi Aaron,
This is not typical.
Such consistent and reproducible problems in Word usually respond to one of
the standard troubleshooting measures, which you will find listed here:
http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/TroubleshootingIndex.htm
(hit refresh a few times in Safari, or use a different browser)
Work through them one by one until something helps. If nothing does, post
back. The most common culprit is a corrupted Normal template or damaged
Preferences file.

Hi Aaron,
Thanks for reporting this issue.
It would really help in diagnosing the problem if you could send the
following details:
- Version of Word
- Other applications that are open (or you are interacting with) at the time
of crash
- Details of document content (length of text, number of pictures, other
objects in document)
- Does Word crash copying/cutting text in any document or in a particlular
document?
It would be great if you could send us a document which is crashing Word at
cut/copy operations.
Thanks,
Ritika [MSFT]
