Hello,
Each time I open an new blank document a doucment(in Microsoft word
2004) that i wrote several months ago appears.  I have tried to resave
this document and the problem persists.  Any help with this matter is
much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi,
your blank document is in fact a template called "Normal", which Word uses
per default to create new documents. Open the "Normal" file in
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data, delete the unwanted text and save. If you
now create a new document, it should be blank once again.

Michel
