File keeps growing

After using EndNote 9 to format my references, the file grew from 1.9
to 122 MB. After un-formatting the references it stayed at 122 MB.
After then re-formating the references, it grew to 188 MB.

I have fast saves off.

Any help out there?

I fixed it by saving as text then again as a Word doc. EndNote does not
seem to have had anything to do with it. Probably a somewhat random
corruption.

More likely, a problem with hidden tracked changes.

Could it be that you turned off the Display of Track Changes, but you forgot
to turn off change tracking itself?

If you did that, each update is marked as a deletion plus an addition, and
both versions remain in the text.

Cheers
