I get this about 75% of time open word documents.  And there is no other
word document open. So really drained with it . Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks.

Sounds like the same problem you had in August -

Does it only happen when you double click the document to open?, or does
it also happen when you use the File/Open menu?

How many clicks?

Revert to Saved means you have opened a document, changed it, then attempted
to re-open it without saving it.

If you open a document with any automatic content (e.g. Numbering or links
to other documents) that counts as a "change".  If you then attempt to
re-open it it, Word will give you the prompt.

If you were to use four clicks in the Finder to open the document, chances
are that's what would happen: it would be interpreted as opening "twice".

Cheers

John!
My guess is that you solved this.

I always click, never use  file menu.

And remember similar thing in Photoshop, menu going behind another menu,
because I would over click and not realize it.  I don't know why that is.

Keep you posted. Thanks!

You shouldn't see this dialog at all with Word 2004 SP2. Have you upgraded
yet? Let us know if you still see this dialog in 2004 + SP2.

We've changed the functionality so that it simply activates the open
document you've asked to "re-open".
