Prevent command button appearing in form letters

I have a merge document which has a form attached by a command button. When
the document is merged to form letters the command button appears on the form
letters. This is not wanted (and it does not work or make sense on the form
letters, it just creates errors if used). Can I stop this happening and if so
how?

Without knowing what version of Word it's difficult to give a precise
answer. The source of your message & the reference to a "command button"
suggests that you're using one of the Windows versions, but this is the
group for Mac Word. If my guess is correct you'd do best to ask in one of
the Win Word groups you'll find here:
