Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I just switched from Word 2003 for Windows to MacWord 2008. Does anybody know of any easy way to set up in Mac Word my old (and familiar) keyboard shortcuts from Word 2003 for Windows? Thank you for your help. Paul Hi Paul: Yes, and no. Yes, you define keystrokes in Mac Word using "Customise", exactly as you did in Word 2003. "No" it is not practical to do this in Word 2008, because on the Mac, the system (OS X) steals a much wider range of keystrokes than Windows does. If OS X is using the keystroke, it requires major surgery to get it back :-) Instead, get used to the Mac keystrokes. They are really not very different, but the modifier keys are. So: Option for Control, Command for Alt, etcetera. The last letter is nearly always the same, and the keys are in the same position on the keyboard, so you will soon get used to it. [Note: "Bend Word to your will" is designed to be used electronically and most subjects are self-contained dictionary-style entries. If you decide to read more widely than the item I've referred to, it's important to read the front end of the document -- especially pages 3 and 5 -- so you can select some Word settings that will allow you to use the document effectively.] "Bend Word to Your Will" doesn't yet cover Word 2008, but it's pretty well the same in Word 2004 in this regard.
