Working in Word 2008 for Mac, student/teacher edition...the Chart and Smart Art Graphics tab that accompany Documents elements, Quick Tables and Word Art are "grayed out"....the possible drawings are there, but they are grayed out and cannot be inserted...what am i doing wrong gang?

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob -

Take a look at the document title bar - You'll most likely see
[Compatibility Mode] following the file name which means that you're working
in a .doc (earlier version) file. Those elements aren't supported by that
file type. If you Save As a .docx to create a new copy in the current format
you'll be able to use the features.
