Hi all
I have recently switched to mac.. very cool.
I have an iMac G5, 2gHz; 1GB RAM; 250GB HDD, Mac OS 10.4.2(Tiger) with
Windows Media Player for Mac OSX Version 9.0.0 (3307)
Problem: I  the "radio tuner", as it was on a pc version.  There you
could search for a radio station broadcast by name etc.  I cannot find
this search function, just a general search for the wole windows media
site.

I am particularly trying to connect to "highveld stereo", out of
Johannesburg, South Africa (www.highveld.co.za).
They have a streaming audio link on their site - When I try click on
"Listen now" on the Highveld website, the separate window (with an
ad for Piggs Peak Casino) opens, but after a while, still no audio, and
that window has an open, white square with a red cross in it, at the
bottom, right hand corner, opposite where it says "Live Audio
Streaming".
Alternatively, when I try open the url
"http://www.highveld.co.za/planet947/streaming.asp" from Media
Player, it says "The Playlist format is not recognised".

Anyone with a solution?
Many Thanks,
Chris

Their page uses a javascript to embed the player in their window. It
clearly didn't work on my Mac either but I  edited the source codes of
the javascript and managed to find out what link it redirected to,

Launch WMP and use the Open URL command with this link:
mms://196.35.64.36/highveld_22?WMThinning=0

No problem playing it then on my Mac.
You should report the problem to the administrators of the site though.
They mention the link for downloading WMP for Mac, I suspect they might
care about Mac users and be interested to know their script just doesn't
work for us (though the streaming is compatible).

Hi Corentin
I tried it.. et Voila! It works!
Thank you very much!!  I had already sent a mail to their webmaster,
who said they would  pass my mail on to the company that  maintains
their audio streaming.  No response from them yet, so I will pass your
solution onto them.

Thanks again,
Chris

Great! I'm glad it worked. I hope they'll find a way to get the stream
to work for every body directly from their page.
