Mac Forum / Applications / Media Player / May 2005no sound with avi files
hi, please help me. I'm using WMP10 and it's suddenly stopped playing AVI files - the picture is fine, but there is no sound. Wrong newsgroup.... Despite the fact that there is no WMP10 for Mac, WMP doesn't play AVI files at all on our platform. Your problem looks like you don't have the proper codecs installed fro WMP 10 in Windows. You shoudl try and find out what codec is used in this file (there has to be a "info ono sequence" command in WMP somewhere) and look for the proper codecs to support the sound track in this file in WMP.
