When I download the WMP V9 for a Mac under OS10.3.9 it appears as a bin
file no problem and when decompressed as a Windows Media.stix file.

When this file Windows Media.stix file is opened the following message
appears:

An error occured while creating or opening an archive. Unsupported
archive format (1)

Does anyone know what's going on or a fix?

Awaiting a kind helping hand.

Download the latest version of Stuffit Expander (now bundled in Stuffit
Standard) and use it to decompact the archive. The version youhave
doesn't support the format used here,
