Sadly, you have to install Stuffit Expander http://www.stuffit.com to open
the WindowsMedia installer.

What is bad about this is how Stuffit forces you to install a 15MB "trial"
version of their standard software, just to get the basic Expander.

Microsoft Mac team, please post a Disk Image or Zip archive.

Well you'reaatouching a very painful point here... WMP is NOT being
developed by the MacBU at Microsoft. I suspect it's being taken care of
by some of the WMP developers.
If the MacBU was in charge, I'm quite sure we wouldn't have had all
these problems for so long.

If the MacBU was aain charge of developping Windows, then MacOS X would
have a serious competitor (not a cow coming out in 1, 2 or maybe 3 years
;-)   ) ,

Sadly, the WindowsMedia installer is a .bin and requires Stuff-It expander
(no longer bundled with OSX)

You must visit http://www.stuffit.com to download a 15 MB trial of Stuff-It
Standard to get the "free" Expander application.

Microsoft should switch to disk images or zip archives for distributing Mac
software
