No sound when WMP 9 for Mac OS X plays WMV from Microsoft Live Meeting

Microsft makes the following claim for WMP 9 for Mac OS X:

"Microsoft Windows Media™ Player for Mac brings the best audio and
video to millions of Mac users with full support for the
industry-leading Windows Media Technologies."

However, when I play WMV files downloaded from Microsoft Live Meeting,
(I presume this meets the criterion of being one of the
"...industry-leading Windows Media Technologies"), the video appears to
work normally, but there is no sound.

I get sound when playing other AV files with WMP or QT, so apparently
the problem is in WMP; maybe MS is using a codec in Live Meeting that
is not supported by WMP, but why would they do that? Does anyone know
what is going on? And, more importantly, does anyone know of a
workaround, such as a better Mac OS X media player for WMV files?

Many thanks for reading my post.

Maybe the sound codec they use is not supported on the Mac (a lot of
codecs still aren't - especially thrid party ones).

You can always try the flip4mac QuickTime codecs that are supposed to
bring WM support in Quicktime. So far I had a mixed success with it but
you never know,
