Setting Windows Media Player as default player for WMV

How to I set Windows Media Player as my default player for WMV files on my
Mac running Panther? When I download wmv files they automatically open in
VLC, which often won't play them properly. I can't find any preferences or
settings in either WMP or VLC which allows me to set defaults for certain
file types... am I looking in the wrong place?

Select a wmv file in the FInder, press command-i, in the "Open with"
section, select WMP and click the "Apply to all" button underneath.
