Hi,
I have a Mac G4 with Mac OS x,v.10.3.8 and Internet Explorer v. 5.2.3 and
Windows Media Player v.9 series.
I want to download and play movies protected with Windows Media Rights
Manager.
I meet two problems:
1. If I download with Explorer, I obtain only on the screen the loading of a
"text" file!?...
If I download with Firefox, the loadind achieves correctly!!!
2. But in this last case, if I click on the icone to play the movie, the
only result is the following message on the screen:
Windows Media Update: In order to play this file, you need to upgrade your
media player to a version compatible with WM Rights Manager V7. Select View
Compatible Player below to see a list of compatible media players. If your
current media player does not have a WMRM V7 compatible version, you should
select a different player with the WMRM V7 identifier.

I have all tried without any success. It seems that it is a problem of
license? If yes, how can I obtain the most easily the correct license?
Thanks

It means the MIME types are mot properly setup on your Mac.

FireFox is smarter ;-))

You won't be able to pley these movies. There is no DRM 7 support on the
Mac. WMP 9 for Mac stops at 1.3 :-<

So is there a third party player that will play a WMA file format that
requires: Windows Media Rights Manager V7?

Nope. Not on MacOS X (though I've never even tried reading these files
in Virtual PC),
