When I go to NBC - The Tonight Show website (and others):

http://www.nbc.com/nbc/The_Tonight_Show_with_Jay_Leno/jaywalking/ index.shtml

If I try to play any of the clips, I get error messages from Safari. The
first one is;  The page „NBC.com > Screening Room‰ has content of MIME type
„application/x-oleobject‰. Because you don‚t have a plug-in installed for
this MIME type, this content can‚t be displayed.

Then I get one from NBC's site that says;  The current version of your
browser does not support ActiveX  Windows Media Player 9 not detected.

I have the latest version of Mac OSX 10.3.8 and the latest Windows Media
Player 9 for Mac.

This problem has been around for a long time, but is becoming more and more
common.  Is Microsoft going to issue an updated version of WMP for Mac that
will address these problems?  Every single Mac user is affected by this, and
frankly there seems to be no rush by Microsoft to fix this!

Help!  Us Mac users miss out on more and more video content as this problem
grows.  Hope someone from Microsoft sees and corrects this ASAP??

Thanks for any help in this matter.  Cheers.

We have no Active-X support in any browser in MacOS X.... (except some
very basic ones in IE). I fear you are out of luck...

That's not going to happen... FIrst IE on MacOS is dead. There is no
chance they'll come up with a Mac browser with Active-X support
(actually I wish people stopped using Active-X even on Windwos :-> ).
then WMP9 is FULL of NASTY bugs that have all been reported from day 1
and no one in charge took the time to fix any of them...
