Can't seem to install WMP 7.1.
It freezes every time I try the installation at 'items remaining to be
installed: 95' even with extensions off.
Can anyone please help.

Try rebooting the Mac holding down the shift key to disable all
extensions and then launch the installer. This often happens when there
is an extension or application conflict.

I've already tried installing with extensions off but still the same
problem. I can move the cursor but cannot do anything. The clock stays
frozen and the dialogue box says  'items remaining to be

I would definitvely check the hard drive for directory damages then. Try
at least through Disk Utility,

If all extensions and startup apps are disabled, the sMac shouldn't even
load sartup servers (wich is another way to get the installer to freeze
for a verrrrryyy long time (though it eventually goes through in this
case after waiting forever).
