The video camera my wife received for Xmas moves .asf video files over to
the Mac. Windows Media Player won't recognize it; something about the
codec. I'm confused. Can anybody help?

You need to give us more detilas... What kind of error mesage do you get
(and what version of WMO on what vresion of MacOS)...

Alternatively, you can try opening the files in VLC or MPlayer,

Ouch... that's pretty clear to me... It looks like a no-go.

These two apps are pretty good media players. Beside the fact that they
can play numerous .avi DivX formats, they also have some support for
some of the WMV codecs. In any case, since they are both free, it's
forth giving it a shot.
