No wmv audio/video-signal on MacOS X

A lot of Mac users have problems to receive wmv-streams that are embedded in
a website in an ActiveX-control. Others tell me they even do not receive
direct links to a wmv-file delivered by a windows media server.

I am not used to Mac OS and wonder what´s going wrong. A friend of mine
using MacOS X had no problem with it. Is there anybody who knows solutions
for this problems?

Only IE for Mac supports Active-X - and very few Active-X commands. 99%
of the time it's a huge no-no.

Try IE, otherwise you're out of luck. Actve-X is a Microsoft-only
technology,

Hi Corentin,

I am surprised - because one of my friends installed the IE and it it worked
(even with Safari). Others even don´t get it with the IE. There is only a
black screen visible.

Then it's anot an active-X problem. It could be that the corresponding
MIME types are not properly registered ont he machines that can't play
the files. Check out the FAQ in this topic:
