I ahev two copies of media  player and I am unable to trash them. I
continuously get a meesage that says, htm file is in use or error-10810. I
would like to delte both and do a fresh install. I am using OSX 10.3 and a
Mac G4.

Log out and back in, the press the alt key as you select to empty the
trash from the Dock,.

You should use DiskUtility to repair Permissions before you perform the
new install. It could be a good idea to also trash the pref and .plist
file for WMP before reinstalling too.
