I keep getting this message when trying to open an mpeg file, but I
can't find the appropriate plug-in for my Windows 9 Media Player
What is a Media Rights Manager??
message:
In order to play this file, you need to upgrade your media player to a
version compatible with Windows Media Rights Manager V7. Select View
Compatible Players below to see a list of compatible media players.
If your current media player does not have a Windows Media Rights
Manager V7 compatible version, you should select a different player
with the Windows Media Rights Manager V7 identifier.

It's a system designed to manage the right of the files you are trying
to view. It defined wether you are allowed to play it, save it, modify
it, convert it.....
Most of the time, the system is there to make sure you don't make a copy
of it to distribute it.
You have a similar mechanism in the files downloaded from the iTMS.
WMP9 supports DRM up to 1.3 but not 7.

hi,
i get the same message that you attempted to reply to in the posting on the
message board; unfortunately, you didn't provide a solution :( is there a way
to get windows media player 9 for mac to work under these circumstances? if
not, what media player should be downloaded? the choices on the web site are
extremely confusing.
thanks for your help.
here's the message, btw:

As I was saying, there is simply no DRM 7 support on the Mac. There is
nothing you can do...
