I have Mac OS X version 10.5.4 (Leopard) and have been trying to download Windows Media Player so that I can listen to some radio stations live on my internet. But every time I try, it downloads but it says I need to choose an application to open it with. Everything I try to use, doesn't work. MS now recommends to use the Flip4Mac QuickTime codecs instead (free and also available on the MS website actually). The WMP installer you have downloaded can be decompressed using Stuffit Expander, but again, I would recommend against using it. The direct link to the download page is there: <http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx> (careful about the carriage return) Click on Free Download, then Download to get the .dmg. A double click will mount it on the desktop. Inside there is an installer that you can double-click.
