Problems after clearing recent

Hello,

I followed the directions at
<http://www.maclife.com/article/how_do_i_erase_the_open_recent_menu_from_windows_
media_player_for_mac
>
to clear out my Open Recent menu - which involves temporarily removing the
Info.plist file and then returning it. Since then I'm having a couple
problems.

Streams are no longer in stereo, I hear only the right channel. The player
window opens in a ridiculously huge size, and if I try to move it or re-size
it the program becomes unresponsive and quits.

The right channel thing is killing me, I can't do my job without it.

Using version 9.0.0 (3307). Any suggestions?

Rebooting fixed the second problem, but I'm still only getting right channel
audio. There's nothing wrong with the stream itself, it was working fine
until I made that change.

Trashing the "Windows Media Player Prefs" file fixed it. Thanks.

Adam, I can't believe you are still using WMP. Have you given a try to
the Flip4Mac WMV codecs for QuickTime instead?? They work tremendously
better than WMP itself 99.99% of the case (and they're free),

But not for streaming content, at least as far as I can get to work.
QuickTime Player with Flip4Mac installed won't play the stream I'm using.

Really?? I use it for streaming content all the time.

That's unusual... (and sad then). You might want to report this to the
Flip4Mac folks.
Is it using an unsupported A/V format??

Stop using it. Seriously!! WMP has been abandonned officially by MS a
few yers ago now and they recommend on their own sites that people use
the Flip4Mac QuickTime codecs for WMV (free).
