Hi,
I tried to rip a CD to an MP3 file and got the C00D0FAA error message. I
searched the knowledge base and found a fix (no tech number, but on
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0103.mspx)
that advised to delete the value in the LowrateSample key in the registry. I
tried this, and still get the C00D0FAA error message unless I change the bit
rate in WMP10 - if I select 192 kb/s then the CD rips OK; if I select 128
kb/s I get the error message.
I even tried changing the PreferredCodecPath path in registry from
"l3codecp.acm" to "l3codeca.acm" and back, as I had both in my System32
folder, but this made no difference.
Any advice on how I can rip at 128 kb/s?

"Cheer up" they said, "things could get worse". So we cheered up and Lo!,
things did get worse.

Paul, I fear you posted in the wrong newsgroup. This is the group for
the Mac version of WMP. You should repost in one of the regular WMP
groups...
