i just downloaded windows media player for mac osx and it wont open coz i
need to open it with an applicaion. i tried quicktime but it wont work. what
do i open it with??

You need to unpack the downloaded player application using stuffit
expander. There's a free version on Apple's website here :
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/stuffitexpander.html
