I have my problem sorta half fixed. At first windows media player was taking
up 50% of my CPU, I have AMD 4400+ so I can assume that if it was any single
core it would just take up 100%. So the problem seemed to be when I had my
video folder monitored, which it tried to update with info that it couldn't
for some reason. After a while this would consume the whole processor. So my
question is what can I do to solve this problem, and an even better thing
would just to quit make it doing stuff behind my back essentially.

Hum... you posted in the WMP for Mac group.
You might want to report in the proper WMP group...
