I am receiving the following....

"Please enter the activation code for this product. You can find this on the
download page."

What is the activation code, I cannot find it on the download page.

Although this is a Mac group (WMP11 doesn't run on Macs) I'll bite.

There is no activation process for WMP11. I would get the player
itself from the actual microsoft source, it sounds like you have some
sort of hacked program there. The correct download page is :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/download/default.aspx

On the microsoft webpage, you may however be asked to "Validate your
copy of windows", which is a browser plugin that checks XP and makes
sure it's geniune. That's normal practice for microsoft's major
applications at download time, and nothing really to worry about.
