Hi guys
on one of my user accounts (and only one, the other two on the same computer
do not have this problem) Media Player, media center, and all other
music-playing programs crashed after a system-wide install and subsequent
uninstall of LimeWire. I don't know if Limewire caused the problem (it seems
that a system-wide install would create a sytem-wide problem, doesn't it?) or
if it was just a timing coincidence. All media files are still stored on the
account, but they cannot be played. This is MP11, btw, on Vista Home Premium
(preinstalled, if that makes a difference) Haven't found any help through
standard troubleshooting. Anyone else have this problem? Or an idea how it
can be fixed?

Media Center??? Are you runnign Windows??
You're in the wrong newsgroup then. This is the newsgroup for the Mac
version of WMP.
You should probably repost in the regular WMP newsgroup to find a better
answer :-\

No problem.
To access the newsgroups here you have three (actually more but lets
focus on 3) options:
- the MS website (not my favorite)
- the Google interface for newsgroups
- a proper usenet client (you're on Windows so I would suggest something
like Agent). That's my option: more control, cleaner, faster,
customizable, offline reading, proper tracking of replies and thread...

These newsgroups are hosted on a plain regular newsgroup (aka usenet aka
nntp) public server accessible from any internet connection:
nntp://news.microsoft.com
