CNN video problem: WHERE IS MICROSOFT SUPPORT?

If so many people are having problems playing CNN videos using Windows Media
Player, then why hasn't Microsoft and the Great Bill Gates responded with a
fix? I've spent an hour searching for a solution to this problem, the
messages cover several years, and no definitive solution has been offered.
Why hasn't a Microsoft technician responded? Don't they monitor this website?

I'm talking about comments in a discussion group listed as
microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player, but I can't find that in the list so
I'm posting this to a discussion group called windows media player.

1) it's probably a CNN issue (though you didn't mention what your
problem was)
2) Microsoft officially declared Windows Media Player for Mac dead quite
a while ago.

Nope. The newsgroup is peer-support based. MS sometimes drops in some of
the newsgroups, but the last time I saw anyone from MS in this specific
newsgroup, it wans in the WMP 7 for MacOS 9 good old days...

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is then. You posted in the
WMP for Mac newsgroup. Is your problem related to the Mac version of
WMP??

I can't even guess what your problem is. With the Fli4Mac QuickTime
codecs for WMV installed on my Mac, I have no problem watching the
videos from the CNN web-site. Very slow to load, but it works.
