when i burn a cd from windows media player it will not play in any cd player.
It will only player on the computer.  i have window media 10 .  I am using
cd-r pro , which is the correct cd. My son also uses the same cd's to burn
cd's from his computerand they are playable in any cd player, House, car, and
portable, but not mine. So i know that something needs to be changed on my
computer

You meant to post this in microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player : This
newsgroup is for the Mac version, which doesn't do CD burning and
doesn't have a version 10 ;-)

To me, it sounds exactly like you're trying to burn a "Data CD" - have
a look at the dropdown settings on the Burn tab of WMP. You need to
select an Audio CD for most older hifi players - some will play data
CDs containing MP3 or WMA audio files but not many.
