Hi, I had the same problem with this error, but finally I fixed it by removing patches 910393 and 903157. If you want to remove those patches, you should open Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. After that, you should tick the box "Show updates" and scroll down. You will find those patches under the "Windows XP - Software Updates", and they have WMP icon.
