So, I'm trying to download streaming video from a site. I meet all the
requirements for the site, but it still tells me that I don't have WMP. The
site says I need at least WMP7 and I have 9. Any ideas on how to make this
work?

That's usually:
- because they use bad code that fails to properly identify your version
when used form a Mac
- because they have features that require WMP7 on Windwos and even
version 9 doesn't have it on the Mac.
There is not much you could do about it as far as WMP is concerned,

You could try installing MPV 2.0.2 from http://www.flip4mac.com/
Their QuickTime codec for Windows Media content seems to work much
better for most sites (and I believe they are also better at spoofing as
WMP9 Win as WMP9 Mac can).
