That doesn't do the trick. When I try to secure delete from trash, it won't
let me saying that .htm is still in use. Anyone out there able to get rid of
the application completely? Also, am I correct in assuming that once Flip4Mac
is installed, WMP doesn't have to be installed at all?

Try holding down the Option/Alt key when you empty the trash (from the
Finder menu).

Also drag these files to the trash:
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.mediaplayer.plist
~/Library/Preferences/Windows Media Favorites
~/Library/Preferences/Windows Media Player Prefs

Thanks for that; I did what you said it worked like a charm.
The only trick was to hold down the Option/Alt key while just doing a simple
Empty Trash, but not when doing the Secure Empty Trash.
