On a powerbook G4 I can receive high speed streaming with Quicktime,
but not WMP 9 for Mac.  Mactopic claims great video. WMP on my PC
laptop has no problems.  Apple says it's a Microsoft problem.  Any
feedback would be appreciated.  Thanks, Dave.

If it works, it's definitively the best option.
The problem is that WMP always uses the lowest bitrate specified in .asx
files regardless of your preferences (it's a well-known bug). The only
workaround in WMP itself is to download the .asx file on your hard
drive, edit it with a text editor (I use TextWrangler - free) and find
the links to the streams in there. Once you've found them, copy the one
you want for the bitrate that suits you and use the Open URL command
with it in WMP.
It's painfully tedious, but it works...

Thanks, I'll give it a try.  To bad we can't get Microsoft to fix it.

Believe me, I tried everything I could think of. I sent e-mails to
everybody I knew and to every form on the MS sites I could think of. To
me, it looks like they don't care more than they don't know it's broken
unfortunately :_\ I wish they could give the project to the MacBU. At
least we know *they* are real Mac users who know how to make an app for
Mac. This is killing me, really!
