WMP9 InstallerVISE Not Responding

Throughout using 10.4 I've tried to install Windows Media Player 9 for the
MAC OS. I'm really getting fed up. Whenever I try to intall the program,
the Installer freezes before even copying a file. I have to force quit the
application everytime. I'm not willing to clean install my MAC for an
inferior program, so suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you have external volumes and/or an iDIsk mounted, the installer has
to scan them all looking for a possible install location before it
proceeds (stupid behavior IMVHO). If the iDisk is slow to respond (which
is usually the case), it can take a VERY long time. Last time I tried on
a Mac here, it took 15 minutes (I went away to get some coffee).
