Hi,
I've got 2 Mac clients on our network and through a network trace I've
found
that only one of them causes the following error in the event log on
one DC
upon each reboot of the Mac, which is running OS X 10.3.9.

Event 2510 -
The server service was unable to map error code 1355.

Initially, i removed our domain name from the "search domains" field
under
the network preferences, and the error now only comes up randomly. i.e
not on
every reboot.

Has anyone come across this before?

thanks

This is likely to stem from your Mac using SMB to browse the network or
make a connection. Does your Mac use SMB to connect to your Windows
servers or does it use AFP?

If it doesn't need to use SMB, you can go to
/Applications/Utilities/Directory Access and deselect SMB to see if this
helps with your problem.

If it does need SMB, check the SMB settings in Directory Access to see
if they've been misconfigured or need to be configured properly.

Hope this helps! bill

Thanks for the tip...

I've disabled SMB and rebooted 3 times and so far no 2510 events. All
is working well in terms of network access. I will keep an eye on it
the next few days.
