I've installed my AIO on my iBook in both OS X and OS 9.2, but it
doesn't work in Classic. HP says they don't support emulators, though
they tried some work-arounds to help. None worked.

Still no luck. :( I'll just have to figure out some workarounds.

I have a G3 with OS X 10.3.5. It's really too bad about all of this; I
used to have a Canon printer that worked flawlessly with OS X, Classic
and VPC, but I gave it to my daughter when I bought the AIO. :S

I'm very surprised by what HP has said to you. VPC is an emulator
that's right but you're installing your AIO not in VPC but in Windows.
I always succeed to install any USB device in Windows. You are able
with the advices I give you to the same.
With the same advices in french, many french VPC users are able to
install USB devices in Windows.

You have time to install your new AIO. You will succeed to do so.

There's something about AIOs that makes them use resources in the
computer on a constant basis, apparently. They won't "let go" in order
to be able to work in a different environment. At least that's what I'm
hearing. I had no trouble in installing the USB printer I had before;
it's just this AIO that's giving me problems.
However, yesterday someone gave me a link to something called CutePDF
Writer <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/28766>, and that
-- though a work around -- works perfectly for me. Basically, it allows
me to "print" to a .pdf file, just as we can in OS X. Since it's so easy
to share files between OS X and VPC, I can then print to paper from OS
X. It works like a charm! It isn't, of course, as easy as printing
immediately from VPC to paper, but it's easy and reliable.
