Will VPC enable me to install Windows versions of software on my Mac.
I am new to Macs, and just found that all my software will not install
(as it is Windows version), and I'm hoping to get round having to fork
out lots of money for different versions.
Thanks.

This is what it has been designed to. It emulates a
Pentuim II based computer, on which you can install any
version of Windows, and run most of Windows softs.
With some limitations though, as it's restrictive in the
emulated Video (S3 Trio PCI card) so don't expect to run
3D games or so. And it won't be very fast (especially if
you're running Windows XP). This will depend on the
available memory though, so the impression may vary (from
veeerrryyy ssslloooww to acceptable)...

Could you mention the softs you would like to run? If
someone around has already used them, you could have a
more documented advice. As to myself, I can say you can
run the Office Pro pack (and nearly feel like you're on a
Wintel machine).

Thanks for the advice so far.
Just to clarify, one of the packages I'm trying to install is Adobe
Photoshop 6.0 - which I'm led to believe comes in a Windows version
and Mac version (although I could be wrong on this front).

==========
I have run all the PS versions from Ver 5 and up on my Mac.
I now use Photoshop CS (latest version) on the Mac. I work w/ others
who run it on a W2000 PC. They are remarkable equal in function..
If you have a PS version on a CD it *should* install in your Windows
system you have under VPC just as it does on real PC hardware.
Beware though, PS is VERY CPU intensive, so running it under VPC may
well disappoint you.
I have not tried to install a PC version of PS on any VPC that I have
run (Ver 3 thru Ver 6.1.1).
The Mac PS version is very stable as is the PC version.
