.NET installer crashes Virtual PC 7 for Mac

I've attempted to install all of the following software with no luck:

-.NET 1.1 Framework
-Visual C# 2005 Express beta
-Visual Web Dev 2005 Express beta

Each exhibits the same problem. Partly through the installation,
Virtual PC itself crashes. It appears like the Visual Studio Express
products crash while attempting to install the .NET framework.

Well, this is beta software. Have you manged to install VS 2003? I think
that's a more important issue.

If I could get the .NET 1.1 Framework installed, I'd try getting VS
2003 on there. I tried installed Web Matrix which is not beta.
However, the pre-requisite .NET 1.1 framework (not beta) exhibited the
exact same installation behaviour.
