VPC5 stopping VPC6

I'm attempting to run VPC6 on an G3 iBook running OSX 10.3.5.

The software seems to have installed correctly but when I attempt to
launch it / use it, I get the following error mesage:

"Your Virtual PC preferences cannot be upgraded because one or more
PCs are in a saved state (including "JB")
Use Virtual PC 5 to save your undo hard drive changes and shut down
all PCs, then open Virtual PC 6 again."

First off, I don't see a virtual pc named JB anywhere on the hard
drive. Second, I inherited this laptop and don't have the software
cd's so I don't have VPC5.

Any ideas on how to clear this out so I can reinstall VPC6 and start
fresh? (I would have thought that was a given when installing a newer
version, but then we are talking about Microsoft.)

Many thanks,
Tim

It would have worked the same way when the app was still supported by
Connectix, so your ire is misplaced this time.

It sounds like some vestige of Virtual PC 5.0 may still be on the
laptop somewhere. VPC 5.0 installed to the Applications (or
Applications (MacOS 9)) folder. The preferences would be in
~/Library/Preferences, and that's where the undo drives and saved
states were stored. I suspect you just need to delete that folder and
you'll be fine.
